Welcome to the United Way Worldwide Brand Licensing Portal. United Way Worldwide is the leadership organization for United Way and its member organizations. The portal is designed to provide information to both United Way member organizations and vendors regarding trademark/name use on branded merchandise and promotional products. The process balances the need for members to able to choose vendors, with the need to ensure a consistent delivery of the brand's visual identity on branded merchandise and promotional products.
There are two categories of brand licensing for vendors, preferred provider and Alternative Vendor.
The preferred provider of branded products is Staples Promotional Products, and it operates United Way Store. United Way Store is an online ecommerce site that keeps over 100 different types of branded products in stock for immediate shipment, offers special order items (including localization), and organizes Group Order Specials that maximize savings. United Way Store has the ability to use all versions of United Way trademarks/names on the products it provides, and it is able to market and sell to United Way member organizations, supporting partners, and individuals.
Alternative Vendors serve various United Way member organizations that prefer to use local business or have other reasons not to use United Way Store. Although the group is comprised mostly of local/regional businesses, some are national in scope. Once licensed, Alterative Vendors are able sell branded merchandise and promotional products with localized versions of the main trademark/name to United Way member organizations.
All of the information on this site is appliable to both United Way member organizations, however all action items are for vendors only, with any final licensing agreement being between vendor and United Way Worldwide.
